Here’s what you need to know about packing outfits for Agribition – it’s COLD. Sure, there are years when it meanders above the freezing mark for a day or two, just to melt all the snow and make getting to tie-outs a sloppy mess, but more often it’s the coldest you’ve ever been. I distinctly recall taking cattle out and my eyelashes freezing together when I was about 16. Not good for the mascara, folks!
So when I pack, I focus on jackets and scarves, because chances are no one will see the cute top you’ve got on anyway. Oh, and thermal socks – you’re gonna want to pack those for sure.
I love this black shearling jacket for style and warmth, along with a great scarf that will look fabulous with a basic long-sleeved shirt if you do ever get to take off the top layer. Disclaimer: I’m not packing to work on cattle this week – I’m just a tourist.
And with that, I’m off to pack for the rest of the week. If you’re interested in the cattle show results, you can follow @livestockxchang on Twitter or Like LivestockXchange.ca on Facebook for real-time updates.
