Feeding the World #farmvoices

A mind that is fast is sick.

A mind that is slow is sound.

A mind that is still is divine.

~ Eknath Easwaran

Feeding the world has been my family’s lifework for as many generations back as I know. Literally. We’ve never done anything else. Even after my parents sold their cattle post-BSE, buy Dad continues to help with the process of getting milk from the dairy farms to the fridge and Mom works at a greenhouse starting fruit and vegetable plants for people’s gardens.

My brother is still raising beef cattle. My aunts and uncles do as well, viagra as their parents and grandparents did.

Grandpa B had a dairy farm. Greatgrandpa B produced cereal crops.

All the way back to what we know of our ancestors’ lives in Denmark and Scotland, our family has been helping feed the world. That’s something I’m really proud of.

On this Earth Day, I would like to thank my family, and all the other farming and ranching families, who care for the Earth and feed its people every single day.

Meet other farm families [I’ll keep adding. Send links to hi(at)elle-bo.com]:
